Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) 2023

(10 July 2023) – Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce (HKFEC) will be participated the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) 2023 as a partner of the event.

The 8th edition of the SFF will take place from 15 -17 November 2023 at the Singapore EXPO. SFF 2023 will focus on the growth and adoption of Artificial Intelligence and how this technology can potentially be used in financial services. As the world’s most impactful FinTech event, last year’s edition brought together over 62,000 participants from 134 countries. SFF is organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Elevandi and Constellar and in collaboration with The Association of Banks in Singapore.

Facilitate Cross-border E-commerce in ASEAN

(4 July 2023) – Dr. JJ Pan, WTA’s Vice-Chairperson, joined the “Facilitate Cross-border E-commerce in ASEAN” workshop as a guest speaker on June 21, 2023. Dr. Pan had contributed on the session of Landscape of SEA’s e-commerce and Digital Economy focusing on the opportunities and challenges for cross-border e-commerce in ASEAN.

The workshop is part of a series of events leading up to the highly anticipated ASEAN Online Sale Day 2023 (AOSD) in Vietnam. It will be to deliberate on viable solutions for cross-border ecommerce enterprises, enabling them to recognize their opportunities to surmount such major obstacles as logistics, online consumer protection, and legal and regulatory issues. Esteemed experts and experienced market players will participate, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices. The workshop will also serve act as a proactive initiative for AOSD 2023, encouraging the participation of all enterprises throughout the region.

Strengthened Public Dialogue Sessions: National Cyber Security Industry

(10 June 2023) – Minister of Communications and Digital, YB Fahmi Fadzil attended a Cyber Security Industry public dialogue session organized by CyberSecurity Malaysia, through the CyberSecurity Malaysia Collaboration Program (CCP) today.

The public dialogue session, which was attended by 200 industry players, aimed to strengthen KKD’s efforts as a leader in the development of the country’s cyber security industry to face increasingly complex cyber challenges and threats.

This session is also a platform to exchange views and share experiences on cyber security issues.

Ten Recommendations to turn the tide on online scams

(16 May 2023) – Online scams have become a global epidemic. Consumers worldwide lost an estimated $55 billion as a result of online scams. The social and emotional trauma cannot even be measured. In many countries, online scams are the most reported type of crime such as in the UK where 41% of all reported crimes are now related to online fraud, and 50% in Singapore.

At the 4th Global Anti Scam Summit we will further define each of the Ten Recommendations to Turn the Tide on Scams.

WTA New Chairman

(21 April 2023) – World Trustmark and Trade Alliance (WTA) is pleased to announce Mr. Ramesh E.V. Balakrishnan as a new chairman.

Mr. Ramesh is a highly experienced, successful, and well-regarded organization leader. He is the Chief Privacy Officer of CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG), a consulting organization to initiate new market, promote security, innovations and develop human, intellectual, financial and cultural capitals within the self-sustaining enterprise ecosystems. He is also the Executive Managing Director of World Mark Sdn Bhd, a company incorporated in Malaysia to establish a framework and a system of trustmarking for the trust infrastructure.

The combination of his experience, culture, and drive makes him an ideal fit for our organization WTA for the next steps of growth and further opportunities.
