“Ecommerce has becoming channel-less and border-less” derived by world ecommerce leaders at Ecommerce World Summit 2019, Singapore

(Hong Kong, April 1, 2019) The Ecommerce World Summit 2019 announced great opportunities in various countries and the positive prospect of e-commerce industry.

The Ecommerce World Summit 2019 was fruitfully held on 28th March 2019 at the Singapore Expo by the Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce (HKFEC), Ecommerce World Limited, SingEx Exhibitions and World Trustmark Alliance (WTA), co-located with Last Mile Fulfilment Asia 2019 and IoT Asia 2019. The events approximately attracted 10,000 people to attend and over 60 speakers shared their brilliant insights during the events. Well-known e-commerce organizations and industry leaders, such as Adobe, Zalora, Sephora, and so on, were invited to join.

Ecommerce World Summit 2019 aims to share latest market information and intensify the digital transformation journey of companies from all industries. At the Summit, there were many discussions on rise, sustainable development and death of e-commerce. 7 speakers representing different regions with expertise in different aspects were invited to introduce more about customer experience, online trade protection for both sellers and consumers, data protection, policy changes and expanding into foreign markets. They all provide constructive suggestions to enter a new market or new business with ever-changing conditions. WTA 2019 Annual Meeting and Task Force Meeting

On 14th October 2019, WTA Annual Meeting and Task force Meeting was held in ShenZhen China, the Chaired HKSEC Hong-Kong, hosted by EBS, attending from Malaysia, Thailand, China, Hong-Kong, Chinese Taipei, Japan and also board member of CommerceNET, founding member of ATA (Founding name of WTA) from Singapore.

  1. Expert session: In the 14th afternoon, starting the Welcome remarks by EBS, the Opening remark by HKSEC, facilitated by SOSA, The expert session with Distinguished guests for EC field presented precious information exchanged regarding each professional field, such as Recent update for ODR By TradeSafe/Japan, Cyber security by CSM/Malaysia, Building Trust by EBS/China, The ethics of data protection by CommerceNET /Singapore and Special knowledge sharing for the Digital Intellectual Property by Prof. Zhang Ping, finally the report for EC in Thailand by Thailand government.
  2. Annual meeting: Following the expert session, WTA annual meeting 2019 was held with fervently discussion and approved as followings;
    • The name changed WTA: For the purpose to activate widely and practically not only trust but also to trading, change name from World Trustmark Alliance to World Trustmark and trade Alliance. According to this change, Governance Rule will be modified, but not change the abbreviation of WTA.
    • The Next chair and vice chair: Chinese Taipei was nominated as the next chair and all member agreed to approved as the next rotating chair. The vice chair are Tradesafe / Japan and CommerceNET / Singapore was also approved.
    • Certified expert: WTA certificated honorable experts for their contribution to WTA activities.
      • Mr. Mandai Eiichiro/TradeSafe, Dr. JJ Pan/SOSA, and Ms. Hasnida Zainuddin/Cyber Security Malaysia
    • Members fee: The members fee as discussed in the task force meeting via video conference, options are Yearly fee, Joining fee, Sponsoring fee etc. Each has advantage or disadvantage, in any case, needs to emit feedback for the fee to the members. One is the news-letter to the members. And more additional option should be discussed.
    • The Next annual meeting: 2020 Thailand, 2021 Philippines (SureSEALwill changed their name and rejoin to WTA.)
  3. ShenZhen 3rd internet integrity conference: WTA members were invited as guest for the conference which was hosted by EBS. Some of WTA members spoke opinions and experience as an expert in the panel discussion in the conference and contributed as presenter to the Chinese excellent EC companies.

Online trust remains No.1 issue in global digital transformation

(16 July 2018, Hong Kong) – The chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of e-commerce and newly appointed chairman of the WTA (World Trustmark Alliance) Joseph Yuen has declared that online trust remains the No.1 issue in terms of accelerating digital transformation on a global scale in relation to e-commerce.

Telecom Review managed to secure an interview with the dynamic chairman of the WTA and Hong Kong Federation of e-commerce at ConnecTechAsia in Singapore, in an effort to understand his strategic approach to solidifying Hong Kong’s status as a leading international city for technological innovation and digital transformation.

In what was a truly engaging and insightful interview, Yuen highlighted his duties and responsibilities in both roles as chairman, the impact the deployment of 5G networks will have on Hong Kong, and the government’s decision to allocate $1bn towards its smart city vision.
