Hong Kong Live Streaming E-Commerce Federation Unites Greater Bay Area with Amazon and TikTok to Drive Cross-Border Growth at MarketingPulse 2026

(19 March 2026) – The Hong Kong Live Streaming E-Commerce Federation (HKFLC), in collaboration with the Hong Kong E-Commerce Federation (HKFEC) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), successfully concluded its participation at MarketingPulse & eTailingPulse 2026, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Under the theme “Generate New Growth,” the event brought together over 1,700 industry professionals from 22 countries and regions.

The opening forum marked a significant milestone with the official launch of the Greater Bay Area Live Streaming E-Commerce Festival (Hong Kong Station) , a strategic initiative uniting industry leaders from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau to accelerate digital transformation across the region’s retail sector.

Tripartite Alliance Launches Greater Bay Area Live Streaming Festival

In a ceremony symbolizing deeper cross-regional integration, Mr. Joseph Yuen, President of HKFLC, jointly inaugurated the festival alongside Mr. Zhu Guangqiang, President of the Guangdong Live Streaming E-Commerce Association, and Ms. Cacey Choi, President of the Macau Live Streaming E-Commerce Association. The initiative aims to harness cross-border e-commerce as a growth engine, fostering retail digitalization and creating new opportunities for brands across the Greater Bay Area.

Amazon and TikTok Share Strategies for Brand Globalization

Immediately following the launch ceremony, Mr. Yuen moderated a high-level fireside chat entitled “New Drivers for Brand Globalization: Exploring Overseas E-Commerce Growth with Amazon and TikTok Shop.” The session featured insights from two industry leaders:

  • Mr. Patrick Zhang, Senior Business Development Manager at Amazon Global Selling, noted: “The next phase of globalization will depend on how quickly and precisely brands can understand local consumer needs and translate data insights into high-quality growth.”
  • Mr. Bruce Pan, Operations Manager for Cross-Border US Markets at TikTok Shop, emphasized the power of content creativity and community engagement, sharing strategies for building brand presence and achieving efficient conversion in high-growth markets such as the United States.

Douyin Life Services Takes Center Stage with O2O Innovation

A key attraction at the HKFLC exhibition booth was the live demonstration of Douyin Life Services, showcasing an innovative O2O (online-to-offline) model designed to drive mainland Chinese tourists to physical retail and dining establishments across Hong Kong. The activation highlighted the potential of social commerce to revitalize the city’s retail, food and beverage, and tourism sectors. The booth also received support from leading retail brand Big C, whose General Director attended in person to explore the intersection of social commerce and brand empowerment.

Industry Spotlight: Emotional ROI and Agentic AI

Throughout the conference, speakers emphasized the growing importance of balancing technological innovation with emotional storytelling. Key concepts such as Agentic AI and Emotional Return on Investment (Emotional ROI) were presented as critical frameworks for brands navigating the complex global market landscape in 2026. Industry leaders underscored that success will increasingly depend on deploying AI-powered emotional intelligence to deliver solutions that drive both business growth and customer satisfaction.

Beyond Individual Borders: How Network Signals are Revolutionizing the Global Fight Against Scams

(16 February 2026) – As cyber-fraud and consumer scams reach an industrial scale in 2026, financial institutions are facing a critical turning point. A new white paper by Ken Palla, featured by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), reveals that the traditional method of banks monitoring transactions in isolation is no longer enough. Instead, the industry is moving toward “Network Risk Signals”—a collaborative approach where payment system operators provide a bird’s-eye view across multiple institutions to catch fraudulent patterns that were previously invisible.

This strategic shift allows for the early detection of “money mule” accounts and abnormal transaction velocities before funds ever leave the system. While individual banks can only see their own data, network operators can identify a single scammer targeting dozens of different banks simultaneously. Real-world implementations are already showing success, from Pay.UK’s Faster Payments in Britain to emerging real-time pilots like FedNow in the United States and EBA Clearing in the European Union.

Despite the clear benefits, the transition to a signal-sharing economy faces hurdles such as data privacy and regional sovereignty. However, the report highlights how cutting-edge Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs), such as Fully Homomorphic Encryption, are now making it possible to analyze risk and share intelligence without exposing sensitive personal data. This technological leap, combined with the global rollout of the ISO 20022 messaging standard, is creating a richer, more transparent data environment for fraud fighters worldwide.

Are you ready to see how these network-level insights could reshape your organization’s defense strategy? Click here to read the full white paper and explore the technical deep dive on GASA.org

Shenzhen-Zhongshan Institute Upgraded to Boost Quality, Standards, and IP for Greater Bay Area Integration

(10 February 2026) – The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Institute for Standards, Quality, and Intellectual Property, a collaborative initiative between the Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology (SIST) and the Zhongshan Municipal Market Regulation Bureau, held a leadership transition and unveiling ceremony for its new name on February 6, 2026. The event marked a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the “Shenzhen-Zhongshan Standards Quality Research Center,” signifying a deepened commitment to integrated development. Nearly 40 officials attended, including Li Jun, Deputy Director of the Shenzhen Market Regulation Bureau, and Zheng Haisheng, Deputy Secretary-General of the Zhongshan Municipal Government.

At the ceremony, Shenzhen’s Deputy Director Li Jun emphasized the Institute’s new role as a vital “connector and enabler” between the eastern and western banks of the Pearl River. He outlined a vision for Shenzhen and Zhongshan to leverage the platform for mutual recognition of qualifications, data sharing, and coordinated industrial growth. Key focus areas include joint efforts in developing quality technologies, building standards systems, and enhancing the collaborative protection and utilization of intellectual property, particularly within strategic emerging industries.

Zhongshan’s Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Haisheng underscored the Institute’s importance for the city’s “industry-based, manufacturing-oriented” development strategy. He framed the renaming as a strategic upgrade to solidify earlier cooperation and drive high-quality, integrated development between the two cities. The Institute is expected to deepen collaboration on standard development and patent conversion, helping “Zhongshan Manufacturing” gain a stronger voice in key industries and bolstering the city’s comprehensive competitiveness.

Looking ahead, SIST has pledged to continue deploying core personnel to support the Institute’s operations, aiming to establish it as a benchmark public service platform in the region. This enhanced collaboration is designed to foster complementary industrial chains, drive the synergistic upgrade of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan economic corridor, and inject fresh momentum into the development of new quality productive forces and the high-quality coordinated growth of the Greater Bay Area.
