Business of IP Asia Forum – 7-8 December 2023

(8 November 2023) – WTA is invited to be a supporting organization of the 13th Business of Intellectual Property Asia Forum (BIP Asia Forum) which will be held on December 7-8, 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Jointly organized by the Hong Kong SAR Government, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Design Centre, the BIP Asia Forum is an annual flagship event to discuss the latest developments and trends in the dynamic intellectual property (IP) market and explore business opportunities in Asia and beyond.

Last year, the two-day Forum has attracted more than 14,000 viewers from 40 countries and regions, and featured over 70 prominent speakers, including worldwide IP organizations and leading brands in the global IP industry.

The Forum this year, themed “IP & Innovation: Steering New Economic Growth”, will set to provoke the strengths of IPs in business value creation. Together with the “Innovation and IP Market”, themed “Cleantech”, a one-stop IP showcase and networking platform with IP management and enforcement related event sessions, the fruitful program will inspire attendees on utilizing IP monetization and commercialization to develop new business frontiers.

Asia Scam Report Unveiled at 1st Anti-Scam Asia Summit

(21 November 2023) – The Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) and TrustTech leading provider Gogolook kicked off the first-ever Anti-Scam Asia Summit (ASAS) in Taipei, Taiwan on 20th of November, 2023. Under the theme of “Turning the Tide in Asia,” the summit brought together regional stakeholders from government, law enforcement, industry, and academia to discuss the latest trends in digital scams and formulate strategies to combat these evolving threats.

At the summit, Gogolook and GASA debuted the first-ever Asia Scam Report, a comprehensive analysis of scam trends across the region, aiming to serve as a cornerstone for future policy development and advocacy in anti-fraud measures on a regional scale. The Asia Scam Report contains data collected from nearly 20,000 respondents across 11 regions in Asia and reveals that scams have emerged as a new normal in the region, as more than 60% of Asians now face at least one scam each week.

$1.026 Trillion Lost to Online Scams in 12 Months: Global State of Scams Report 2023

(12 October 2023) – A Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) survey conducted in association with ScamAdviser, involving 49,459 people from 43 countries paints a devastating picture of the worldwide onslaught of scams, highlighting an urgent need for vigilance and preventive action. The survey revealed that a substantial 25.5% of world citizens lost money to scams or identity theft in the last 12 months, with financial losses adding up to an estimated $1.026 trillion.

Latin American Cross-border E-commerce Industry Exchange Conference (Zhuhai Station)

(25 September 2023) – Nuggets Latin America 2023 Latin America Cross-border E-commerce Industry Conference” hosted by the Zhuhai Municipal Commerce Bureau and jointly organized by the Zhuhai E-Commerce Association, the Guangdong Provincial Trade in Services Association, and the Latin American Association was held in Zhuhai Xinjun King Marriott Hotel was successfully held.
