(28 March 2024) – Developed collaboratively by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), BioCatch and SSF Stöldskyddsföreningen, the report offers crucial insights into the current landscape of scam activities in Sweden as of 2024.
The findings of this report are both staggering and concerning. Notably, Swedish citizens have incurred substantial financial losses, totaling a staggering $2.75 billion, directly affecting 0.5% of the nation’s GDP. Furthermore, the report highlights that 1-in-8 Swedes have fallen victim to online scams, with a significant portion encountering fraudulent activities on a monthly basis. This alarming trend is compounded by a simultaneous decline in confidence regarding scam detection, evidenced by a notable 93% increase in scam attempts against the Swedish populace.
