(15 September 2026) – The Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce (HKFEC) has introduced the “Go Global with Hong Kong Retail Platforms – Finance Playbook”, a strategic guide designed to help SMEs and retail platforms expand internationally. The initiative emphasizes Hong Kong’s role as a trusted hub for cross-border commerce, offering practical frameworks for managing multi-currency transactions, compliance with international regulations, and building digital trust with overseas buyers.
The playbook also highlights the importance of adopting fintech solutions, AI-driven analytics, and risk management tools to streamline operations and reduce fraud. By providing case studies, templates, and training programs, HKFEC aims to empower SMEs with actionable strategies to overcome financing challenges and scale globally. This effort reinforces Hong Kong’s position as a gateway for Asia-Pacific businesses seeking reliable financial infrastructure and international reach.

To mark the launch, HKRMA hosted a special event in Hong Kong on September 29, 2026, bringing together e-commerce leaders, financial experts, and SME representatives. The event featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops focused on cross-border payment solutions, compliance readiness, and digital trust frameworks.
Participants also had the opportunity to network with industry peers and explore partnership opportunities with regional trade alliances. The event underscored Hong Kong’s commitment to supporting SMEs in their global journey, positioning the city as a central hub for innovation and international trade.

The program will feature the release of the State of Scams in Asia 2026 report, providing fresh insights into scam trends and tactics. Survivor testimonies will highlight the human impact of scam compounds and trafficking, while breakout sessions will cover topics such as disrupting financial flows, AI-driven defenses, and telecom strategies to combat SMS and voice fraud.
Networking will be a key component, with delegates gaining access to the GASA app for structured connections, curated working groups, and interactive collaboration. This ensures participants leave with actionable strategies and partnerships rather than just discussions.
On the second day, the summit will host the Anti-Scam Awards, recognizing organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to consumer protection and scam disruption. Finalists will present their initiatives directly to the jury, underscoring the importance of innovation and measurable impact in the fight against fraud.

The Bangkok summit is part of GASA’s global series, following events in Lisbon (Europe, June 2026) and San Francisco (America, September 2026). Together, these gatherings form a coordinated worldwide response, reinforcing the need for cross-border intelligence sharing and enforcement. Hosting the Asia edition in Thailand highlights the country’s growing role as a regional hub for anti-scam leadership.
